I collaborated with artist Shana Moulton to adapt her celebrated video serial into a one-act, cross-platform opera, featuring my original music and libretto. The story tracks Cynthia, Moulton's agoraphobic alter-ego, and her attempt to become an environmental activist. The opera premiered at The Kitchen and subsequently was performed at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art TBA festival (Best of Visual Art 2011, The Oregonian), Carolina Performing Arts, SFMOMA, the Warhol Museum, and Cricoteka (Kraków). In 2013, Shana and I were awarded a Creative Capital grant to adapt Whispering Pines 10 for the internet, as a digital soap opera. The web site whisperingpines10.com premiered in full in April 2020
